Former ESPN baseball analyst Harold Reynolds has joined the SNY staff as a studio personality for the New York Mets' pre and post game telecasts.
"I've never worked on a 'local' broadcast," Reynolds said. "I hope to bring some national perspective."
Reynolds will work about 20 dates for SNY, as he is still a full time staffer at MLB.com. In related news that was somehow missed by this blog, former New York Met and Yankee Darryl Strawberry will also be working in the studio for random Mets games throughout the year.
A job well done by SNY on both moves. Reynolds is fantastic in the studio and is also extremely good in the booth during games, although it will be hard to find a spot for him in between Gary Cohen, Ron Darling and Keith Hernandez, who make up possibly the best broadcasting team in Major League Baseball.
Hugs for everyone!
