A Few Too Many Ads at Yankee Stadium?

A Few Too Many Ads at Yankee Stadium?

Sitting in Yankee Stadium yesterday for the 63rd Annual Old Timer’s Day, I was consistently amazed at how many advertisements were available for my viewing pleasure.  This was my second game at the new Yankee Stadium and I remember when I walked in the first time two months ago and thinking that there were ads EVERYWHERE.  Well, after looking around the stadium yesterday, I feel even more so.  Posting what I saw on the KingMorland page on Twitter, here is a list of the companies I saw at least one ad for:

Budweiser, Met Life, Casio, Hess, Toyota, The Sharper Image, Modell’s, W.B. Mason, Sony, Pepsi, New York Presbyterian, Utz, Komatsu, Yomuri, Armitron, Majestic, Delta, AT&T, Ford, Bank of America, Audi, Canon, State Farm, Mastercard, French’s Mustard, Avis, NYSE Euronext, Geico, Weatherproof, Gatorade, Spongetech, Foot Locker, New York Daily News, Stanley, Dunkin Donuts, Zales, H&R Block, Sports Authority, FTI, Yankees-Steiner, New Era, Poland Spring, Amstrak, Auto Trader, Mitsubishi Electric, Storr Tractor, Home Depot, Lobel’s, Premio, Turkey Hill, Subway, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Nathan’s, Best Buy, Empire BlueCrossBlueShield, Yes Network, Walmart, Starter, Yankees.com, Stop & Shop, Mohegan Sun, New York State Smokers’ Hotline, P.C Richard & Son, Blackberry and Cracker Jack.

65 different advertisers, all viewable at some point in the game from my seat in section 314 of the terrace (upper deck by first base).  The outfield wall looks like a minor league park and the scoreboard is just littered with ads.  It’s truly amazing how many there are.  My new goal is to grab a picture of each one, although I doubt I’ll be able to get them all.  From this picture alone (taken from my seat), you can see at least 20:

I guess when you have to pay Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter, CC Sabathia and Mark Teixiera over $100 million each year, you gotta sell what you can.
