Using the Right Equipment

I am a freelance writer, and one of the many types of work I do is transcription.  There will be clients who have certain audio interviews or other pieces of audio that they need converted into text format, and it is my job to make sure that I get the most accurate text out of the audio file.  Unfortunately, this work can be pretty time consuming because, although I can type pretty fast, people still tend to speak a whole lot faster than I can type.  This is why good digital transcription equipment is so important.  The better the equipment, the easier it will be to slow down the audio in order to allow you to keep up with all of the words being said, and that can go a long way in helping you to make your job a whole lot easier so that you can get it done a whole lot faster.

Before I had good transcription equipment to work with, I would often have to stop the audio in order to be able to catch up with the speech, and that is something that makes it take a whole lot longer in order to get all of the words into text.  It can be really frustrating having to stop the audio regularly in order to catch up, and it can make a five minute audio clip take an hour or so to complete.  Having a good transcription software can definitely lower the amount of time that it takes to get the job done, and that means that there is a whole lot more money to be made.

Since I have had this equipment, I have been able to get a whole lot more work done, and that means that I have made a whole lot more money.
